With the famous Around The Bay 30k coming up this weekend, it’s a good time to start looking at what to expect. Here’s my recon report from last year, including a video of the challenging Valley Inn Road. Chilly Half Marathon 2013 – Race Report

I feel like I should start this race report with a general apology to the whole southern Ontario running community. It’s not my first time pacing (as you can see in my pacer history), but my first failure. I was expected to be the 2:10 pacer for the 2013 Chilly Half Marathon and I failed miserably. I’m genuinely sorry to everyone and there’s nothing I can do to make it better.  There were things that I should be happy about, and genuine excuses I can make, but for the moment I’m feeling pretty shattered about it. Chilly Nerves

I’m registered to be the 2:10 pacer at the Chilly Half-Marathon in a couple days. But I don’t feel ready. I’m quite nervous. This will be the third year in a row I have run this race, and the first year that I’m going to pace it. I registered to pace it months ago, setting an ambitious goal of 2:10. In my previous years I did the race in 2:14 and 2:03. The goal time of 2:10 should have been a comfortable goal. Unfortunately, I haven’t had the best training season.
