Detraining Guilt
It’s been over a week since my back-to-back marathons and I’m feeling very guilty. I’m guilty of enjoying my detraining too much! The wear on my body after the two full marathons was much worse than what I have experienced in the past. Among other extreme pains, I was unable to use my right hip flexor for over a day. I had to lift my right leg with my arm to get into my car! I’m A Maniac!
My regular readers probably think I’m a maniac anyways. Well, now it’s official! Last night I got word that I have been approved as certified Marathon Maniac! By running both the Bank of America Chicago Marathon and Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon, I qualified for the Marathon Maniacs Bronze Level. I’m Maniac 5954! I was inspired to try to become a Marathon Maniac after learning that Hong Vuong (Maniac 4622) who I run with had achieved their gold level! Going for this goal was very motivational.
