Goodlife Fitness Toronto Marathon Race Report

Marathon number 9 is in the books! This race was a long time in the making. It’s my first “serious” full-marathon since the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon in the fall of 2012. I’ve run two Walt Disney World Marathons since then, but those are much, much slower and definitely less serious. I wrote about my goal, preparation and potential post-race rewards in earlier posts. Pre-Marathon Rituals

I’ll be running the Goodlife Fitness Toronto Marathon soon. I talked about my race goals already, but I thought I’d share this post with some of my pre-race rituals.   Carb-Loading Dinner This is now a time-honoured tradition with Square One Running Room runners. 2 nights before the race we have the cheat meal to end all cheat meals! Post Race Treats List

I usually plan things months (or years) in advance, so it’s taken some effort to focus on my upcoming race and NOT on the months to follow. I do plan to treat myself a little after I crush this marathon. I’ve made similar wishlists in the past, and some items re-appear because I didn’t get them before.   Little Caesar’s Deep! Deep! Dish Pizza with bacon-wrapped crust! On a previous wishlist I indicated my desire to devour a similar calorific nightmare. Well, now it’s gotten worse better!
