Power HoodieZ!

This post has nothing to do with running, but I wanted to share it because I have a new favourite hoodie! When I was in Florida for the Walt Disney World Goofy Challenge, I saw someone wearing a blue and white hoodie. This hoodie had a diamond pattern that looked a lot like the original Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers costumes from 1993. I was right in their target age group when I was a kid, and it is very nostalgic. I thought it must be a Disney thing because they owned the franchise for a time. The discussion on this little issue has turned into a massive storm in a tea cup in the running blogosphere, but there are some interesting points that have been brought up in the whole mess. Let me start by saying that I have the utmost respect for Vanessa Rodriguez. We have conversed a bit, I’m reviewing some books on her behalf, and I even ran with her a little bit at DisneyWorld this year. Stupid Pain, Stupid CrossFit

Several weeks ago, I invited someone from a local CrossFit studio to speak for our half-marathon’s ‘Strength Training’ session. I strongly regret that. He correctly mentioned that high intensity workouts can give you rapid benefits, but missed the warnings that high intensity, high impact workouts are very dangerous. Before he left, he challenged me to do one of his workouts, and if I did he would do one of mine. I should have left it alone, but the challenge was too tempting.
