February Review

So, this was a different kinda month. I started it unable to run because of my calf injury. So I got creative and slashed my calories, and rediscovered weight training and swimming. Unfortunately, my first time back in the pool I got some water in my ear which led to an ear infection 🙁 It’s really nice being back in the gym. Perhaps the only downside is the DOMS. Chilly Goals

On Sunday I will be running the Chilly Half-Marathon in Burlington as the 2:20 run-walk (r/w) pace bunny. This will be the 4th year in a row I’ve run this race, and my second time pacing it.   I volunteered to be a pacer at this race for a few reasons. My true goal for the season is the Goodlife Fitness Toronto Marathon. It’s the first serious full-marathon I’ve done in almost 3 years. Injury and Getting Old

I know it’s deeply ironic that I say I feel like I’m getting old, especially since I just turned 30 and I’m well aware that everyone who reads this site (except perhaps Lisa) is older than me. But, I can’t help but feel like I’ve gotten more fragile since that decade milestone.  At the end of 2014, I suffered a shoulder injury that made it hard to run or lift weights.
