Recharge
It’s been about two weeks since I ran the Mississauga Half-Marathon and 5k. That marked the chilly winter running season. I was eager to start training again, but circumstances forced me to take a much needed break. It was an unexpected by necessary interseason intermission. I’ve been exercising with high intensity and regularity since my relationship started falling apart. I only begrudgingly stopped for taper. I wanted to get going again as soon as possible, but I was sore and found myself unusually busy. Good Kinda Hurt
I wanted to capture this feeling: A couple of days after two good races I feel spent, in a good way! My lymph nodes are swelled, I think I’m running a fever, my blood sugar is all over the place, I’m dizzy, so sore I can’t lie still, so sore that it’s hard to move. But truly felt like I gave everything, especially in the 5k. And I’m smiling at a long season ahead and the opportunity to do even better next time. Mississauga Marathon 5k and Half-Marathon Race Reports
I ran Mississauga Marathon Starbucks Hazel 5k and Recharge With Milk Half-Marathon last weekend. Yes, both. Why?? Because I can! Originally, I planned to only do the 5k because I would then get the whole Mississauga set. Then I decided I was going to fundraise for the Trillium Health Partners Foundation, and the half-marathon got added.
