On Uniforms

While cheering on runners during the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon events a couple of weekends ago, I noticed a lot of running uniforms featuring club affiliations as well as charity logos. It made me think a lot about the nature of how an individual sport like running can also have a team aspect. I understand and appreciate that elites wear uniforms to display their team and/or national colours for sponsorship purposes. Dopey Training: Week Minus One

As far as I’m concerned 2013 is already a bad memory. My last race of 2013 is in the bag and I feel like I learned a lot of hard lessons from my struggles this year. I’m already squarely focused on 2014! Andrea made a really nice comment on my last post: Here’s to the end of the 2013 running season and onto great things in 2014. Niagara Half-Marathon Goals

It feels like I just wrote one of these last week! This Sunday I’m running the Niagara Falls Half-Marathon. I suppose I’ll call this my actual goal race for this lousy season since last week was ‘only 5k’. Normally I also scoff at a half-marathon too as ‘only a half.’ I started this season with a marathon training schedule and some long runs of almost 26km.
