Feeling Drained
On Tuesday I donated blood at a blood donor clinic at my work. This is my 8th time or so donating blood and I usually donate about twice a year. I see it as something important to do, especially since Canadian Blood Services is advertising their “Blood Signal” right now indicating an increased need for donors. What is this Black Magic?
This was my first “long” run in a very long time. I hazard to call 13km “long,” but it’s much longer than I have done in a long time. But, something really, really weird happened during my run today. I was really struggling for the first 6.5 km. My right foot went numb after a couple of kilometers as has been my chronic injury for months. I was hoping it has improved, but apparently not. Berlin or Bust!
As I promised, I was going to make a firm decision on whether or not to do the Berlin Marathon. After some soul searching and a full-round of medical checkups, I have decided that I will train to run the BWM Berlin Marathon on September 29, 2013. My third “runniversary” or the anniversary of the first day I ran was June 8, and I didn’t mark it with anything special this year.
