Neat Graphic of Race Times
While looking at someone’s profile on dailymile, I noticed that someone won something from Road Warrior Running. I thought I could win something so I registered. The site then directed me to Road Race Results so that it could collect my info. I guess they mine the sportstats race results or something because most of my Ontario race results were already there. Patience
I find it incredibly ironic that patience can be so valuable in a sport predicated on speed. The big change I made this season was to follow the recommended training zones. Usually I struggle to follow the rest of the group, even if that means running way too fast. Leading the clinic gave me the opportunity to run well below my aerobic threshold while still running with people. Even when they sped up, I fell back so that I wouldn’t sacrifice my workout. A pleasant surprise
I ran the Ottawa half-marathon earlier this year and it’s currently my personal best. It’s also one of my favourite stories, but I’ll never commit it to writing. Ask me about it in person some time ;). This postcard encouraging me to run it again arrived yesterday. The back of the postcard seemed pretty typical of advertising.
