Going “Pro”
A few weeks ago I flourished my credit card and bought the dailymile PRO package.
If you haven’t used dailymile before… what’s wrong with you?! One of the things I love about the running community at the recreational level is that it’s so inviting, welcoming and supportive. Some people say dailymile is like a facebook for athletes, but it’s a little different. A lot of my “friends” on dailymile are strangers I’ve never met, but I still like to motivate them and give them tips, and they do the same back. I’ve now met a lot of these people in real life, especially at races, and it’s nice to know that I have new friends out there who I’ll be running with and sharing experiences.
They list a lot of features for the pro upgrade to your free account, like the improved analytics, workout planners and motivation buttons. Actually, the extra motivation buttons are pretty cool:
These are nice features, but certainly not worth the $49.95. There’s a tiny little thing they list at the list of features for buying dailymile PRO, they call it dailymile Karma
I appreciate that dailymile is free, but it’s a great platform that I find motivating and supportive. I’ll paypal a few bucks to freeware programs I find really useful, or free websites that give great services. I felt I needed to support dailymile and share some love and “Karma” back to the programmers.
