Don’t Believe I Got Injured…
I don’t believe it, but I am injured. After a set of running drills and hills on Tuesday night, I felt some soreness in the bottom of my left foot. I suspected it was the early stages of plantar fasciitis so I did my usual foot stretches and massage. When I woke the next morning, the top of my left foot had seized. Swimming, swimming!
It has been a long time since my last swim. In the fall, the pool closest to my home closed for renovation, and only reopened last week. I meant to go to other pools, but never got around to it. I still consider myself a novice runner, but I would be lying if I called myself a novice swimmer. It’s a romantic notion to think that I went from couch to marathon coach in less than 3 years. Early Season Slump
Things really aren’t going as I had planned so far this season. I got a late start due to a medical complication, my paces are awful, my weight is not good and I feel like I’m letting my clinic down. What a mess! I have some pretty lofty goals for myself this season: Together with Amar Sandhu, we’re leading the Marathon Clinic at our local Running Room Beat my previous personal best at the Bank of American Chicago Marathon.
