And I’m a Half Fanatic too!
A little while ago I was very proud that I have achieved my goal of the season of becoming a certified Marathon Maniac! Upon review, it turns out I had accidently met the requirements to become a certified Half-Fanatic earlier this year. Oops. So, now I’m Half-Fanatic 3100! I achieved the “Neptune” moon level by doing 3 half-marathon races in 63 days. The three races were the Chilly Half-marathon, Around The Bay 30k and Mississauga Half-Marathon. Energizer Night Race 2012 Race Report
This race report is pretty late… like almost 2 months late. I apologize. It was mostly done a long time ago but I was waiting to see if there any picture of me. Regrettably, no. Date Event Goal Time Chip Time Gun Time 2012/09/08 Energizer Night Race 55-60 min 57:51.27 58:34.71 Oh the lovely Energizer Night Race. Highly touted, novel, and I’m sure it’s a lot of work. But I don’t think I’ll do it again. I wrote some rather lofty goals a few weeks before the race, with the delusions of grandeur that I might actually win a medal.[…continue reading]

Detraining Guilt
It’s been over a week since my back-to-back marathons and I’m feeling very guilty. I’m guilty of enjoying my detraining too much! The wear on my body after the two full marathons was much worse than what I have experienced in the past. Among other extreme pains, I was unable to use my right hip flexor for over a day. I had to lift my right leg with my arm to get into my car!
