New York City Marathon Goals
Start spreading the news I am leaving today I want to be a part of it New York, New York… It’s been a long road since I found out I got into the New York City Marathon back in March. It’s been a long, grueling summer with lots of ups and downs of training. At one point I wrote that I had 173 days until New York, but the countdown is finally ticking to an end. Toronto Waterfront Half-Marathon Goals
On Sunday, October 18, I’m running the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Half-Marathon. This race has special significance for me: When I ran the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Half-Marathon in 2010 was my first half-marathon, ever. I’ve run 19 other half-marathons since then. And I’ve run the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon 5k and Full-Marathon TWICE. But I haven’t been back to this half since it launched my running career. I also recently realized that it will be my 21st half-marathon. That would make 21 official 21.1km races!! So, What Next?
Yeah, I’ve got the hardest part of my season still ahead of me, but I like to think ahead. I’m constantly scheming and planning. It helps me distract myself during training to think about what’s next. And it helps to keep me focused through a season to see that life goes on after I appreciate that it’s almost inappropriate to try to plan so far ahead even though I’m still about 4 weeks from my goal race of the New York City Marathon.
