Dopey Challenge Report

Before anything else, I want to thank the thousands and thousands of volunteers that made the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend so magical! I don’t if any of you will see this report, but I really appreciate your time, energy, support and help! These races are genuine Disney magic. You feel like a kid again being in the parks, but I get to combine that with my passion of running and the joy of finishing the races. Dopey Training: Week 8

I always look forward to taper week. I also always dread taper week.On one hand, I love that it’s a genuine break and the most important part is recovery. On the other hand, I get jittery and want to go-go-go which spills into other areas of my life. Mind you, with air temperatures around -24ºC and windchills below -30ºC, I’m kinda glad I didn’t have to be outside running too much last week. Dopey Training: Week 7

Another simulation week complete! That was fun… Dopey Health Stats Resting Heart Rate: 56 BPM Weight: 205.8 Lbs Body Fat %: 26.6% Average hours of sleep: 7.5  (8+7.5+10+6.5+6+8) Getting up at 5am may have been a touch unnecessary on days I was off, but I felt it important to get the whole experience, including the early morning and lingering fatigue. There were a couple of nights where I had only 6 hours of sleep. Those were obviously bad, but perhaps a necessary experience too. I plan to make up for it this week.
