Mobile Phone Trouble
This is a non-running post about aging technology and a nasty consequence of the new Wireless Code of Conduct. If you’re on a three-year contract, consider yourselves lucky! I just got a plan for my mom and I’m glad she’s guaranteed her rate for 3 years! It’s been almost 3 years, but my trusty Blackberry 9800 Torch is starting to die on me. Reality Check Fairy Ensues
Training is going okay. I’m making my regular posts on my Dopey Training. This isn’t a post about training, or even running in general. It’s almost a wishlist, but not really. Damn reality check fairy! I have such ambitious plans… Marathons, triathlon, french, PMP, courses, licenses, yoga, tai chi, martial arts. I’d like to do my own renovations. But there’s this reality-check fairy that taunts my thinking. It reminds me that there are only 168 hours a week. I work 35 of those, sleep 63 (hopefully) and commute 14 at least. I’m running. Standby.
A little corollary to a post I made a few months ago about a lot of running in the new Star Trek Movie. I saw this animated GIF on Tumblr and had to share it. In this scene, Engineer Montgomery Scott (Scotty) is running down a very long room. Simon Pegg who stared in Run Fatboy Run really sells the scene and provides some comic relief in a very tense part of the movie.
