What is this Black Magic?

This was my first “long” run in a very long time. I hazard to call 13km “long,” but it’s much longer than I have done in a long time. But, something really, really weird happened during my run today. I was really struggling for the first 6.5 km. My right foot went numb after a couple of kilometers as has been my chronic injury for months. I was hoping it has improved, but apparently not. Berlin or Bust!

As I promised, I was going to make a firm decision on whether or not to do the Berlin Marathon. After some soul searching and a full-round of medical checkups, I have decided that I will train to run the BWM Berlin Marathon on September 29, 2013. My third “runniversary” or the anniversary of the first day I ran was June 8, and I didn’t mark it with anything special this year. Temptation and Progress?

I can see it’s going to be a constant fight for motivation this season. I think I’m winning so far, but it’s a long 114 days until the Berlin Marathon (not that I’m counting…). I hope I can keep my motivation up that long. At the same time, it’s ONLY 114 days until the Berlin Marathon and I have a lot of training to accomplish in that rather short amount of time!
