I didn’t expect to write a race report for a little 5k run, but there are so many things I can talk about. But, here is my little story about little race and its spills and thrills in Mississauga on December 3. I wasn’t even sure I was going to do this race. With the Disney Marathon less than 6 weeks away, I was hoping to do long runs every Saturday in addition to my Sunday long runs. A Saturday race would effectively rob me of that second long run. Training Update

As you might imagine, my “Grand Plan” hasn’t been materializing the way I would have liked. There are some good and bad in there, and I think I’m learning to accept that. I was swimming twice a week for a few weeks. I was able to do 2000 metres in about 50 minutes. I’m pretty happy about that. However, when I entered that data into my Dailymile account, it estimates I only burned 600 calories in that hour. When running, I burn double or triple that rate! My Grand Plan!

I re-ready my post from the beginning of this summer 2011 race season where I set my goals and planned the season out. Obviously, things did not go as I had planned last season: My cross-training fell off the map, my weight increased and my times for all distances got worse!
