Dopey Training: Week 1, Really!

I’ve finished what I’m calling Week 1 of my Dopey Training. There were weeks -1 and 0, but I look at those as ramp-up weeks. This is the first week that felt really serious. And there’s very little of November left, so all I have left is December and then it’s time for the Walt Disney World Dopey Challenge. It feels like it will be here REALLY soon! Knuckle Lights Review

For those that don’t run with lights in the dark, you really should!  People mock my lights. They used to joke I was a miner or going camping when they saw me with me headlamp. Their mockery ended when they ran beside me and noticed the difference. Although most of the sidewalks I run on at night are lit, there are poorly lit areas too. By running with my own lights, it’s easier to see things on the ground like sidewalk imperfections, puddles or fallen branches. Dopey Training: Week 0

Here another update of what I hope will become regular installments of my Dopey training. My clinic starts tonight and so I consider my first run with my clinic as the start of Week 1 of Dopey Training. Dopey Health Stats Resting Heart Rate: 52 bpm Weight: 209.0 lbs Body Fat Percentage: 28.5% (I’ll add hours of sleep and a flexibility metric next week)   I didn’t get as many miles in this week as I expected, but they were higher intensity miles which I guess I needed.
