Chilly Half Marathon Race Report
The post painfully overused pun for this race will be that it was CHILLY. But that barely describes it. It was genuinely a very cold day for a race. The weather was ironically appropriate for the Chilly Half-Marathon. I often tell my clinic members that we train in any weather because race day could be any weather. My clinic has struggles through bitter cold, windchills near -30, ice, snow, uncleared sidewalks, and howling winds. Dopey Challenge Report
Before anything else, I want to thank the thousands and thousands of volunteers that made the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend so magical! I don’t if any of you will see this report, but I really appreciate your time, energy, support and help! These races are genuine Disney magic. You feel like a kid again being in the parks, but I get to combine that with my passion of running and the joy of finishing the races. Knuckle Lights Review
For those that don’t run with lights in the dark, you really should! People mock my lights. They used to joke I was a miner or going camping when they saw me with me headlamp. Their mockery ended when they ran beside me and noticed the difference. Although most of the sidewalks I run on at night are lit, there are poorly lit areas too. By running with my own lights, it’s easier to see things on the ground like sidewalk imperfections, puddles or fallen branches.
