Before anything else, I want to say thank you to everyone who has been so supportive! I have been beating myself up since the failure at Chilly, but you were all very supportive and encouraging! I love the recreational running community! Date Event Goal Time Chip Time Gun Time 2013/03/24 Around The Bay 30k 3:30:00 3:30:10.5 3:35:32.2 So many things went well during this race! Habemus Garmin

With all the Pope Francis media recently, the title for this post seems particularly appropriate and ironic. I had a really lousy run on Sunday: I’ve been having a lot of trouble all season getting the pace and intensity I’m used to. I’ll comment on my performance issues in a different post. But, the real tipping point of the run was that my trusty Garmin 405 died after about 10km.     I was very sad that my Garmin died, but not surprised. Chilly Half Marathon 2013 – Race Report

I feel like I should start this race report with a general apology to the whole southern Ontario running community. It’s not my first time pacing (as you can see in my pacer history), but my first failure. I was expected to be the 2:10 pacer for the 2013 Chilly Half Marathon and I failed miserably.
