My Typical Breakfast

As I mentioned in a previous post, one of my new fall initiative to track my food intake more carefully. One simple part of this tracking is that I have the same breakfast almost every day. My typical breakfast consists of the following: Two slices whole wheat/grain toast Cream Cheese or margarine Microwave poached egg Banana Glass of Skim Milk I’ve had this same breakfast almost every day for much more than a year. Falling into New Habits

Someone whom I care deeply about has moved a little further away for school. This makes me sad that it won’t be as easy to see her or see her as often, so I’ve decided I need to keep myself busy and distracted. In a morose way, it also give me the opportunity to redouble my training and organizing efforts. Damn Artificial Sweetners

After my swim this morning, I reached for one of my trusty protein bars. From what I understand, getting some protein and carbs not long after a workout is important for recovery. I have a Premier Protein™ Bar Variety Pack with 15 bars that I purchased a few months ago from a local Costco. I looked over all the ones Costco had, and wanted a protein bar that maximized grams of protein with the fewest number of calories. This brand seemed to have the best ratio (30g of protein for 270 calories) with what I thought was no artificial sweetners.[…continue reading]
