Blasphemy

There’s a piece of paper I’ve been carrying in my backpack for several months. It felt like it was burning a hole in my pocket because it was time sensitive. It was like an opportunity that was ticking away. Last fall I begrudgingly withdrew from the Berlin Marathon due to injury. I got some of my money back, and I didn’t pay for flight or hotel so I was glad I didn’t lose that money. Dopey Challenge Report

Before anything else, I want to thank the thousands and thousands of volunteers that made the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend so magical! I don’t if any of you will see this report, but I really appreciate your time, energy, support and help! These races are genuine Disney magic. You feel like a kid again being in the parks, but I get to combine that with my passion of running and the joy of finishing the races. Dopey Training: Week 8

I always look forward to taper week. I also always dread taper week.On one hand, I love that it’s a genuine break and the most important part is recovery. On the other hand, I get jittery and want to go-go-go which spills into other areas of my life. Mind you, with air temperatures around -24ºC and windchills below -30ºC, I’m kinda glad I didn’t have to be outside running too much last week.
