Happy Retirement to Me!
No no! I’m not leaving my job as an electrical engineer. I love my day job and can see myself happily working here until I retire. I am announcing my retirement from being a marathon clinic instructor. I’ve had a great time with the Square One Running Room. In the fall of 2011 I started as a half-marathon clinic instructor with Dino DiBernardo. The goal race for that clinic was the Chilly Half-Marathon 2012. Taking It Easy?
So, true conversation during my run this afternoon: Running Friend: So what are you doing to recovery from your injury? Paul: I’m taking a break. Cheering On The Mississauga Marathon!
This was a new experience for me: On Sunday, May 5 I was a spectator for a Marathon, the Mississauga Marathon and half-marathon. With all the build-up and training everyone else is doing, it was hard not to be frustrated that I was unable to do this race. But, being injured as I was, withdrawing from this race and not being a pacer was preferable to further injury and/or a pacing failure like Chilly.
