To Berlin?

There are a lot of reasons I wanted to do the BWM Berlin Marathon: It’s one of the World Marathon Majors. I had a notion of doing all of them at one point. I’ve already done Chicago and London. I have a longshot dream of someday qualifying for, and running the Boston Marathon. And I guess New York and Toyko would be nice. So, Berlin seemed like just another logical step. Around The Bay Group Pic… Growing into something ridiculous

So… It looks like I had too much time on my hands. This little photo got out of hand. It started as a nice keepsake, then got creative, then a little ridiculous. I love it! The original photo was taken with Dio Torne’s iPhone and posted on Twitter. It’s a picture of the Square One Running Room‘s marathon clinic in Copps Coliseum before the 2013 Around The Bay 30k. Habemus Garmin

With all the Pope Francis media recently, the title for this post seems particularly appropriate and ironic. I had a really lousy run on Sunday: I’ve been having a lot of trouble all season getting the pace and intensity I’m used to. I’ll comment on my performance issues in a different post. But, the real tipping point of the run was that my trusty Garmin 405 died after about 10km.     I was very sad that my Garmin died, but not surprised.
