Yellow is my colour this fall
I guess yellow is my colour this fall. Or maybe gold? It’s nice that I get these shirts long before race day so that I can train in them before my respective races. There is a superstition that you shouldn’t wear a race shirt until the race because they’re technically finishers shirts and you haven’t finished yet. But these are almost uniforms, so I want to train in them to know how they feel and get used to them. Classic Overtrain
Recently, I demonstrated exactly what happens when overtraining. I got the moodiness, lack of performance and illness in spades! It’s no mystery why I wound up in this situation: Work had been unusually difficult for the last month. I’m used to being out of the office a day or two a week with short site visits and walking around construction sites. High Intensity Time
After successfully pacing A Midsummer Night’s Run, I have a great boost in motivation. You could say I have a new wind in my sails (or wings…) I’ve been having delusions of grandeur of doing really well at the Walt Disney World Half-Marathon this year. Wouldn’t it be awesome to stand on the podium!? However, a quick look at last year’s results quickly bring me back to earth. I would have to finish the half-marathon in less than 1:15 to stand a chance. I’ve never even broken 2:00 for a half-marathon yet! Such flights of fancy aren’t entirely wasteful.
