Gym Conumdrum

I’m planning ahead and have a bit of a conundrum. I’m inspired to invest in my training this fall and winter, so I need some tools to do it.   I’m probably going buy a full membership in a gym starting this fall. I quite a few things on my wishlist including an indoor track, yoga classes, and pool for early-morning swims. Indoor Track: My preference is to run outside. Army Run Goals

The countdown is on to the Ottawa Army Run half-marathon. This is the race I’ve been training for all summer. And it will be a test to see if all this Jack Daniels training really worked. I have mixed emotions going into this race: I’ve trained hard, but some setbacks in the last month have left me with doubts.  I know that I’ve trained harder than I ever have for a half-marathon, According to my Dailymile stats, I’ve run over 560km as part of this program since May 20, 2014. Unscheduled Flu Downtime

I’ve been down with flu-like symptoms for about a week and it sucks! This unscheduled downtime makes me jittery like a taper, and also worried I won’t be at my best to compete at the Ottawa Army Run next week. I get a feeling that this illness is related to my Disneyland trip and the jetlag and temperature differences that subjected me to. The odd flight times, early race, change of temperature, and fatigue, I should have been more careful following the race.
