Lots of Running in Star Trek Into Darkness
Of course I went to see Star Trek Into Darkness. I’m a huge Star Trek fan. After about a week of letting it digest, I just realized that the characters did a lot of running in this movie. Like, an AWFUL LOT of running. They could marketed the movie as “Starfleet Academy’s Cross Country Team.” I think I can talk about this with giving away any spoilers. Happy Retirement to Me!
No no! I’m not leaving my job as an electrical engineer. I love my day job and can see myself happily working here until I retire. I am announcing my retirement from being a marathon clinic instructor. I’ve had a great time with the Square One Running Room. In the fall of 2011 I started as a half-marathon clinic instructor with Dino DiBernardo. The goal race for that clinic was the Chilly Half-Marathon 2012. Cheering On The Mississauga Marathon!
This was a new experience for me: On Sunday, May 5 I was a spectator for a Marathon, the Mississauga Marathon and half-marathon. With all the build-up and training everyone else is doing, it was hard not to be frustrated that I was unable to do this race. But, being injured as I was, withdrawing from this race and not being a pacer was preferable to further injury and/or a pacing failure like Chilly.
