Is It Time For Hibernation?

I’ve had a lot more trouble than usual dragging my butt out of bed lately. I’m actually getting about 8 hours or more per night; that’s more sleep than usual! Then why do I feel so tired? Maybe it’s remnants of my cold. Maybe it’s the effect of a weak week without exercise. Maybe I’m always this tired and with motivation waning I’m just complaining more. Maybe it’s the shorter days and my body has decided that it’s time to hibernate. Perhaps a combination? I know that I tend to lose motivation and energy in the fall. Unscheduled Downtime

My mother warned me that I’d probably sick if I ran in the rain. And with all the factors leading into it, I really did get sick after the Oasis Zoo Run. The illness started gradually got worse. At first, I just had sniffles, which wasn’t too different from the overtraining sniffles I had recently. But then I started to feel drained all over my body. Even little activities like going shopping or clmbing a couple flights of stairs exhausts me. I feel cold. That was particularly weird because I feel like I’m always sweating! Restarted Season!

My 23km run on Sunday was a success! It was great! I was a little stiff starting the run, but I took my time, did my 5-and-1’s, and finshed strong. The stiffness went away as I ran, and I found I was speeding up towards the end. There was wind, some rain, and it was even pretty dark when I finshed, but I think that just made it more epic!
