With A Whimper…
I’m experiencing several different ailments and several things are very wrong with me. Until I get this cleared up, I am suspending all of my running indefinitely. I have already withdrawn from pacing the Mississauga Marathon. My race last Saturday at Harry’s Spring Run Off was exceptionally painful. My left foot has been falling asleep during runs for a while, but usually circulation comes back after a while. But my foot was asleep this entire race, and the right one too at some points. Overtrain Train Wreck
You’d think I’d have learned by now. I went through this just a few months ago! I was so proud of myself that I ran 43km over 5 separate runs. It was my first real week of true training since the Goofy Challenge. But, I paid for it. By the end of Sunday’s 10 mile run I was struggling and suffering. Classic Overtrain
Recently, I demonstrated exactly what happens when overtraining. I got the moodiness, lack of performance and illness in spades! It’s no mystery why I wound up in this situation: Work had been unusually difficult for the last month. I’m used to being out of the office a day or two a week with short site visits and walking around construction sites. Over this month I was out 3-4 times a week, in really hot weather wearing very hot safety gear and heavy steel toe-boots. One day involved walking all over a carhouse checking systems.
