New Diet: Week 9 – Injured but still kicking
I was really worried that I would gain weight this week. As I posted before, I injured my left foot on Tuesday night and missed two runs and a gym visit since then. I did go for my usual Monday swim, but with the missing workouts I was sure I was going to be in trouble. I’m really glad that my weight stayed the same. I’m very relieved. Being injured has really made me question my mortality. I used to think I was invincible and unstoppable! Being sidelined like this makes me feel vulnerable and lost. Don’t Believe I Got Injured…
I don’t believe it, but I am injured. After a set of running drills and hills on Tuesday night, I felt some soreness in the bottom of my left foot. I suspected it was the early stages of plantar fasciitis so I did my usual foot stretches and massage. When I woke the next morning, the top of my left foot had seized. It was uncomfortable to even walk! In retrospect, while doing length swimming on Monday, I did quite a few turns pushing off the wall with only my left foot instead of both.
