July Review
This has been a working month. I’ve really been working hard but it’s exhausting. I was working really hard for most of the month. However, I kind of fell off the wagon in the last week or so of the month. Fatigue just piled up and I kind of spiraled out of control with poor food choices, poorer sleep, and fading motivation. June Review
This was a month of transformation. The first full month of this training season and high hopes for it all. I suppose the first big thing was that I’ve really, REALLY, taken a hard look at my nutrition. Tracking my food on June 2 was really sobering. It was pretty hard to see that I’d really need to cut back on food, especially foods I loved, to meet my weight loss goal. But, I’m reading a lot of labels and starting to try to find balance. May Review
As I said in my season reflection, I though a lot about how my penultimate race didn’t go so well. This article from Runner’s World about Three Ways to Cope with a a Bad Race was very helpful to read. I think I’ve effectively dissected the disaster, I’ve made a new plan and I’m already working towards doing better in a few months. It was odd taking time off from running and training in general for the first part of this month. I found it hard to not run on such beautiful days. But I know it was for the best.
