John Scott, the People’s MVP
This is a story about a hockey player. But even more than that, it’s a story about a human. I started writing this as a Facebook post but it got much longer and detailed than I expected. I know this blog is mostly about running, but this is a great motivational story that transcends hockey, and kind of just warms the heart. Walt Disney World Goofy Challenge 2016 Race Report
As in previous years, I want to start this report with a HUGE thank you to the thousands of volunteers that make this race weekend magical. They’re there even earlier than the runners and doing important work like directing traffic, working at bag check, manning water stations, working medical, and handing out medals! There was even one guy volunteer I recognized from my last Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend who was in the same spot every morning greeting and directing runners! New Year’s Resolutions 2016
As New Year’s Resolution posts go, I’m VERY late. January’s almost over and I’m finally getting around to publishing this. But, better late than never! And, I better get this out before I have to write a January review!! Unlike last year, a lot of my resolutions this year are much more difficult to quantify. I don’t think I can make them all SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Time-Sensitive), but I’ll try.
