Swimming, swimming!

It has been a long time since my last swim. In the fall, the pool closest to my home closed for renovation, and only reopened last week. I meant to go to other pools, but never got around to it. I still consider myself a novice runner, but I would be lying if I called myself a novice swimmer. It’s a romantic notion to think that I went from couch to marathon coach in less than 3 years. Hero Story

I certainly don’t consider myself a hero of any sort, but the Trillium Health Centre Foundation just posted a bit on my Mississauga Half-Marathon fundraising campaign. I’m in their Hero Gallery. Paul doesn’t need a superhero cape to prove that he is an everyday hero. But the cape fit, so he ran with it in support of Trillium Health Centre Foundation at the Mississauga Marathon. Paul has participated in many running events across the city, and this year he decided to run the Mississauga Marathon in support of Trillium Health Centre Foundation. Barrel Chested?

We had a meeting last Sunday for the pacers for the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon (more on the meeting another time). The gentleman in charge was giving out some old shirts as random prizes, but he said the mediums he had wouldn’t fit me because I am too “Barrel Chested.” I’m sensitive about my body shape so that comment has stuck with me for a while.   I took some measurements and figured out that I really am barrel chested, but not in any way I could control.
