#HappyHealthyHolidays
September and October didn’t go so well for me: I flubbed my race in Ottawa, then my sleep habits went downhill, I missed the CN Tower Stair Climb because of work, and then I missed the Niagara Falls Half-Marathon because I was sick. I haven’t done a monthly review in a while and frankly I feel like I’ve simply been slacking. But, a new month starts tomorrow and there’s always the opportunity to start again. Niagara Half-Marathon Goals
Before anything else, I’d like to congratulate everyone that ran events as part of the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon. It’s a great big event, and so many of you were out there as a part of it! Congratulations!! I feel a little bittersweet about not running it this year. I broke a streak! My first half-marathon was Scotia in 2010, then I ran the full in 2011, I paced the full in 2012, and I completed the set by running the 5k last year. This year, nothing! The Rebound
I came into this interseason period with a burning feeling of failure and anger. Time and reassuring words from many dear running friends has help soothe my sore feelings after the Ottawa Army Run didn’t go as well as planned. And a little reality check has helped me refocus. I’ve had a lot off time to think about what happened at Ottawa. I don’t think I was physically ready to do the half in under 2 hours, but I could have been closer than what happened.
