Frosty 5k 2020 Race Report
On March 1, 2019 I was still in the ICU at St. Michael’s Hospital, paralyzed and on a breathing tube suffering from a rare auto-immune neurological illness. On March 1, 2020, I ran a 5k, the “Frosty 5k” as party of the Chilly Half-Marathon event in Burlington, Ontario. I started training for this “run” in January. Regrettably,in early February, my physiotherapists told me to stop running. It was causing quite a strain on some of my internal organs. I did keep walking, but no more running. Chilly Half-Marathon (and Frosty 5k) Race Report
I had a great run(s) last weekend! I successfully paced the Chilly Half-Marathon around 2:20, and then I ran the Frosty 5k. Marathon Photos got some great pictures of me during the run. I think I’m going to buy the whole package and post it eventually. How did I do both? Chilly Goals
On Sunday I will be running the Chilly Half-Marathon in Burlington as the 2:20 run-walk (r/w) pace bunny. This will be the 4th year in a row I’ve run this race, and my second time pacing it. I volunteered to be a pacer at this race for a few reasons. My true goal for the season is the Goodlife Fitness Toronto Marathon. It’s the first serious full-marathon I’ve done in almost 3 years.
