Frosty 5k 2020 Race Report
On March 1, 2019 I was still in the ICU at St. Michael’s Hospital, paralyzed and on a breathing tube suffering from a rare auto-immune neurological illness. On March 1, 2020, I ran a 5k, the “Frosty 5k” as party of the Chilly Half-Marathon event in Burlington, Ontario. I started training for this “run” in January. Regrettably,in early February, my physiotherapists told me to stop running. It was causing quite a strain on some of my internal organs. I did keep walking, but no more running.
