July Review
I have updated my New Year’s Resolutions with some Half-Year Resolutions. This monthly review discusses the resolutions that continued from the original resolutions. Next month I’ll update the new ones too. There were some distractions and lousy weather that caused me to miss some runs. As a result, I adjusted my training schedule to accommodate and allow for a proper ramp in mileage. July could have gone better, but it’s probably better to miss a couple runs than get burned out and lose the season. Running Therapy
I get the Runner’s World Quote of the Day by e-mail every morning, and I usually see the “poster” version on my Facebook News Feed because I like their Facebook page. I particularly liked this one and thought I’d “reblog” it as part of my Monday Motivation series. It turns out the phrase “Running Is Cheaper Than Therapy” is very popular. There are products, blogs, tumblrs, and other paraphernalia touting this claim. And of course, Mark Remy pokes fun at it too. Half-Year Resolutions
I made an ambitious set of New Year’s Resolutions in January. Some of them have gone really well, and some of them probably aren’t going to happen. As I mentioned in my last monthly review, I’m due to update this list. And there’s no reason that January 1 is the only time people can set resolutions! August 1 seems just as arbitrarily appropriate! I wanted to make all of these resolutions SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Time-Sensitive) but some are difficult to measure in any specific way.
