Another Motivation Motivation! Do you readers like these?   This next quote is one of my favourites. I actually had it printed on my shirt for the Ottawa Half-Marathon in 2011. “Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional.” Obviously, pain is not a good thing and exercising with pain isn’t a very good idea. But the idea is that mild discomfort is going to happen. Back when I posted my plan for Phase I of my Jack Daniels Inspired Summer Training Program, I thought that 4 weeks of easy runs would be EASY! Long story short, it wasn’t. I hope that I have the necessary base for the upcoming fun.  This Early Quality phase of the program is marked by the introduction of interval work during both quality workouts. This period also has an increase in mileage. RUN-GRY: When you are so hungry from your long run or your increase in mileage that you must eat.all.the.things.

With the increased volume of intensity, I’m finding myself increasingly hungry. A term that went around the internet a while ago once called it ‘rungry.’ I’m trying to make a controlled and conscious effort to combat it effectively.
