I’m Going to Disneyland!
As I’ve mentioned over and over, (and over and over, again), I’m running the DisneyLand Half-Marathon at the end of August. I ran the Walt Disney World Dopey Challenge last January, and I decided this was my year to complete the Coast-to-Coast Challenge. I’m looking forward to it with some trepidation. As is usual for my races, I’m pouring over all available information and soaking up any information I can about the race and course, in particular ChatterRunGirl’s race report of last year’s Disneyland half marathon! Fingers Crossed
I am cautiously hopeful about the state of my recovery. There are good signs, but I don’t want to jinx it. I was super-sore for most of this week. My 19km long run on Sunday morning was a shock to my system. The morning after that run I was unusually sore. Then on Monday evening I had a weight training session with my personal trainer. By the end of that I was twitching in muscles I didn’t know I had. So, Tuesday and Wednesday were sore as expected. …Or Bust?
In a post from about a month ago, I declared I was going to run Berlin Or Bust! After a tough month of reality checks, my goal of running the Berlin Marathon in September seems pretty far away. The worst part is I think I might be okay with that… If I was following my training schedule for Berlin, I would have needed to do 23km Sunday night. I didn’t run at all.
