Chilly Goals
On Sunday I will be running the Chilly Half-Marathon in Burlington as the 2:20 run-walk (r/w) pace bunny. This will be the 4th year in a row I’ve run this race, and my second time pacing it. I volunteered to be a pacer at this race for a few reasons. My true goal for the season is the Goodlife Fitness Toronto Marathon. It’s the first serious full-marathon I’ve done in almost 3 years. Plan B: The Silver Lining
I was pretty dour when I posted last week about my new injury. And there are some various cons to being unable to run due to medical reasons. But, I’m starting to see some marginal benefits to being “benched.” The cons of being sidelined due to injury were pretty obvious: -I can’t run -Soreness and pain -Potential weight gain because of calories not burned -Missing the comradarie of a group run -Low mood because of missing endorphins One would think I’d have a bunch of free time, but since I’m the clinic instructor, I still have to see the group[…continue reading]

Video Games Relapse
So, there haven’t been any updates to this blog lately. I have an explanation: I had a video game relapse recently. I mused in the summer that I didn’t play video games much anymore. But, as I posted in a Facebook post back in November, I felt like Dragon Age Inquisition would be the biggest threat to my training season. It has been so far. I have been very impressed with this latest iteration in the Dragon Age series. The story is compelling, the graphics are great, and the gameplay is fun.
