Injury and Getting Old

I know it’s deeply ironic that I say I feel like I’m getting old, especially since I just turned 30 and I’m well aware that everyone who reads this site (except perhaps Lisa) is older than me. But, I can’t help but feel like I’ve gotten more fragile since that decade milestone.  At the end of 2014, I suffered a shoulder injury that made it hard to run or lift weights. Ryad Ali runs the Yukon Arctic Marathon!

It is my pleasure to share with you the story of my good running friend Ryad Ali. I met Ryad a little over a year ago at my local Running Room. He started in Learn To Run but has quickly improved to being a marathoner, having completed the Hamilton Marathon last fall. He has also lost over 115 pounds in less than a year!
